Over the last three decades since 1986, the Huntington Beach Concours d’Elegance has evolved into one of the most outstanding car shows in southern California. Often called Surf City by locals, Huntington Beach has long been a magnet for the car culture, from highboys to lowriders and Ferraris to Volkswagens.

Beautiful Central Park provides a picture perfect setting. Hundreds of exceptional cars and bikes create a wholesome atmosphere of family fun. A wide choice of food and other vendors, live entertainment and children’s activities mean there’s something for everyone.

This show is unusual in its broad range of vehicles, from top-dollar classics by the finest makers to famous supercars, hot rods, customs, modern rides, and even motorcycles. Where most shows focus either mostly or entirely on domestic vehicles, this event displays British, Asian and other imports as well.

Some car clubs like the Lincoln Continental Owners Club and the Thunderbirds of Southern California hold their own club events at the Concours as a “meet within a meet,” featuring additional judging and awards by the clubs for their member cars. In a unique twist, the memberships of each of these two clubs will vote on the other club’s cars to award a People’s Choice award for Best Continental from the Thunderbirds and Best Thunderbird from the Continental Owners.

Saturday features hot rods and custom cars, with the focus Sunday on classic cars and motorcycles. This year’s Sunday theme features the 1964-1972 pony cars, Nissan and Datsun Z, BMW cars, 1955-1969 BMW/2 motorcycles, and the Honda 750 Four motorcycle. Sunday will also feature several activities for kids 10 and under, including balloons, slot cars, and face painting.

The Huntington Beach Concours Committee is an all-volunteer group that holds the Concours d’Elegance to help fund the Children’s Resource Center at the Huntington Beach Central Library. The Resource Center provides library services for children like books, reading programs, computers, learning support, crafts workshops, and more.

Tickets are 10 dollars per adult and free for kids under 16. Central Park is located next to the Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Avenue, Huntington Beaches, CA 92648.
